This is a place to stay if you just need a place to sleep and are not looking for a full amenity hotel. Parking is a couple blocks away and we paid to park at a lot that let us park overnight. There is no place to park and unload when you check in and if ordering car service they can't really stop in front since its on market street so you have to be ready to jump into the car.
They old slider gate elevator is cute and the view from our room was nice. We walked up to Stacks restaurant on Hayes for a great breakfast and the hotel is adjacent to Valencia street which offers lots of shops and restaurants. Alcatraz is a must see, be sure to complete the full included audio tour. If you catch the weather right the Golden Gate Bridge is worth traveling to and walking on. Hotels are everywhere older and newer; I would recommend a middle of the road priced one not in the middle of union square or any other named area; thus is so you can sleep at night without the party voices and minimal emergency and transportation vehicles.

The staff was unusually friendly and helpful. The rooms are nicely and comfortably furnished and well decorated and the bathroom is modern. There are nice little lounge rooms on each floor. The breakfast had a good selection, though one day the had run out of several options before we got down there.
We will definitely stay there again! Good location a few blocks uphill from Union Square, avoiding some of the noise and panhandling while still close to stores if thats your thing - Id love to stay far from Union Square but most options are there. Close proximity to Union Square, Beautiful view from my room see photo , great Happy Hour in intimate setting. Lobby is inviting and comfy place to relax.
Valet parking is reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the area. Very good location. Only 4 blocks away from Union Square. Quiet hotel. Very clean and big rooms. Very centered in the main tourist sites and a block away from union square. The facilities were good and the hotel is in a great location in relation to Powell station and Union Square. The electronic blinds were great. The location is perfect for travellers- very convenient to go to Union Square and San Francisco downtown. There are also many good restaurants nearby. The room is clean and well equipped. Great location near the financial district, only 1 homeless along the street. Breakfast is so good in this hotel before you walk down SF all day. Clean, comfy, well decorated rooms and great staff. Fun little outdoor area with fire pits and yummy hamburger restaurant. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel bar and the restaurant were nice. The cleaning and support stuff were all amazing. The location is also very central, so overall it was a very memorable trip thanks to them.
